The History of Semiconductor Systems
Semiconductors are the divided type of substances. Scientists got known about such materials in the end of the 19th century, but just in the 20th century scientists managed to obtain more knowledge about them. The first successful experiment was carried out by the Russian scientists in 1923. They proved that semiconductors can be used to accelerate fluctuations. There was no opportunity to create some unique devices as semiconductor assembly. First transistor was created in Bell's laboratory in 1949. That event impacted on the quick development of semiconductor devices. The intensive studying of the features of semiconductors was begun at the same time.
The interest to optical characteristics of semiconductors revived because of research of induced emission in semiconductors. By means of such principles as p - n barriers and heterojunction physicists managed to create laser system in the beginning of the 60's.
